ROSES IN THE WATER Places in the Top 10% for the Academy Nicholl Fellowship

La'Chris Jordan's Roses in the Water placed in the Top 10% for the 2020 Academy Nicholl Fellowship. According to the Academy, the yearly competition saw a record breaking 7,831 entries with "a lot of great scripts featuring compelling and entertaining stories, intriguing and engaging characters and strong craft."

The Academy Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting Competition has launched more successful screenwriting careers than probably the cumulative total of those launched by every other screenwriting contest. It is a not-for-profit screenplay contest run by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the organization behind the Academy Awards. It was started by Gee Nicholl in memory of her husband, successful British teleplay and screenwriter Don Nicholl.

Roses in the Water is Jordan's first feature screenplay.
