ROSES IN THE WATER Named One of the Top 100 Screenplays in the Launch Pad Screenwriting Competition

(Los Angeles, CA - November 20, 2020) - The Launch Pad Feature Screenwriting Competition recently announced the Top 100 Feature Screenplays. La'Chris Jordan's dramatic feature Roses in the Water was on the list of recognized screenplays with its gritty tale about a young woman who decides to enlist in the U.S. military to improve her life and get out of poverty, but an unexpected pregnancy disrupts her plans.

Since the launch of their very first writing competition five years ago, the Launch Pad has helped more than 254 writers get signed, 81 projects get set up, seen 48 writers hired as staff-writers, and sparked 4 studio bidding wars. From the start, the competition has leveraged its deep relationships with Hollywood’s top agents, managers, producers, and executives and consistently assembled a “who’s who” panel of 25 judges for each and every competition. This year is no exception, with judges participating from UTA, WME, Paradigm, APA, Energy Entertainment, Circle of Confusion, Di Novi Pictures, Village Roadshow Pictures, Bellevue, and many more.

The Top 50 Screenplays will be announced on December 10.
